The tradition that is TDU was postponed in 2002 for me until December/January of 2002/2003. January is a much more risky time to chase in eastern Australia. This trip saw a 2-week long upper level ridge make it very difficult to chase. Chris G and I drove from Melbourne (VIC) to Townsville (QLD) and back again in search of storms. This day saw a nice lightning show near Longreach in western QLD.
