A typical border ranges storm day (the day before the big one). A strong cap held off deep convection until very late in the day. The building instability eventually broke through and the moderate shear created some very nicely structured storms. A long, thin funnel cloud was observed a close range near Mt Alford (S of Boonah) and some great lightning later that evening.
