Large hail was starting to fall at this stage. You can see it splashing into the water in the foreground.

Fingers of scud in the background were rotating nicely and it looked like it was going to produce but it didn't. Hail was up to golf ball sized now. We were now just E of Jetmore, Kansas.

Another shot of the structure!! Inflow was gusting well over 50mph by this stage.

We eventually dropped south and east (through the still evident paths of the May 4 and May 5 2007 tornadoes from around the Greensburg - St John area). Dust can be seen racing on the inflow into the storm here.

The cell was now just a totally crazy HP beast with another cell bearing down on it from the NW and a line out to the west.
