The RFD cuts in and a near textbook clear slot develops. The scud under the base had already started rotating. Near Gove, Kansas.

The clear slot has really wrapped around the wall cloud which is now looking quite nice!

Funnel cloud (that thing in the foreground). This funnel was rotating like crazy for 5 minutes before finally touching down about 2 miles to our west. South of Grainfield, KS.

The tornado lifted and the funnel persisted for a long time in this semi-decended state.

Just north of Grainfield, we watched as the funnel dropped down again and emerged from the rain as this awesome slender elephant trunk tornado.

After the white elephant trunk roped out, we kept racing north as a new meso developed and was rotating rapidly! Very soon after, a very large funnel developed and this large multi-vortex (wedge?) touched down just a few miles to our west, north of Hoxie
