I got desparate after a few weeks and flew to Brisbane for a chase and scored a few nice supercells.

Storms from 8:30am until after midnight - A sucessful chase in western Vic, eastern SA and then back into north western Vic.

Continuing from the previous day, we chased into north central Vic where we got smashed by an intense squall line.

The first of a 10-day long chase trip to Darwin produced some amazing storms - including images from the plane on approach to Darwin airport.

After a gorgeous sunrise over Darwin, we watched Hector bubble away over Bathurst Island to the north in the afternoon and evening.

After being pleasantly awoken by a 4am thunderstorm (which we chased), we were happy to watch a typically perfect Darwin sunset later that evening.

After an amazing sunrise and swimming in the water holes of Litchfield National Park, we chased a beastly storm well south of Darwin and witnessed another beautiful sunset.

Our convoy of vehicles headed all the way to Katherine this day where we intercepted a weak squall line.

Another very full day with early afternoon storms around Darwin followed by some monster storms over Kakadu National Park to the east which continued on to produce an awesome layered shelf cloud.

Swimming in the local water holes of Berry Springs was interupted by rumbles of thunder from storms which developed around Noonamah.

After returning from Darwin, I managed to squeeze an afternoon off work and scored two supercells in north central Victoria. Definitely one of my better chases.

A line of storms intensified over the northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne producing one of the better April storm events for some years.

2004 May 01

One of my earlier snow chases of this season saw a trip to Mt Donna Buang with David Simpson. We scored a nice dump of about 8cm of light, dry snow as well as cold air Cb's and a nice sunset.

Another high-shear chase day to far south western Victoria. Although not as sucessful as the one earlier this season, I still got some nice seascape photos.

A cold front pushed across Melbourne late in the afternoon and was marked by quite a nice gust front.

I knew I was officially crazy after this morning. I got up at 4am and drove to Mt Donna Buang before getting changed into my work uniform (business suit) in the snow and driving to work.
